POWERGRID, the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of the
country and a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Govt.
of India is engaged in power transmission business with the mandate for planning,
co-ordination, supervision and control over complete inter-State transmission system
and operation of National & Regional Power Grids.
POWERGRID operates around 75,289 circuit kms
of transmission lines along with 124 Sub-stations and wheels about 50% of total
power generated in the country through its transmission network. POWERGRID, with
its strong in-house expertise in various facets of Transmission, Sub-Transmission,
Distribution and Telecom sectors also offers consultancy services at National and
International level.
POWERGRID has been making profit since inception, having
yearly turn over of more than Rs 7500 Crore and net profit of more than Rs 2040
Crore.
POWERGRID has recently been conferred with “Emerging Telecom
Infrastructure Provider” Award at the INFOCOM CMAI National Telecom Awards 2010
and has been the recipient of Green Award by the World Bank for commitment in the
field of environmental sustainability.
During the XI Plan, POWERGRID envisages an investment of
about 55,000 crore for further developing the National
Grid including inter-regional transmission systems, transmission system for evacuation
of power from generation projects under central sector and Ultra Mega Power Projects
(UMPPs).

Experience Profile

Post-qualification experience
in implementing the Government’s policy regarding the use of Hindi for official
work in all respects including translation and other related work. The candidate
should be well conversant with official Hindi terminology, process, procedure and
system for implementation of Rajbhasha rules, regulation
and directives of the Government and PSUs. Experience
in PSU/Listed Company particularly in Power Sector will be preferred.

Equivalent Pay (for persons
working in organizations other than Govt./PSU) : The gross emoluments at the time of submission of application
excluding LTC, Medical, Leave encashment and employer’s contribution towards social
security schemes shall be at least Rs 24900 per month.
Candidates need to submit
copy of their latest salary slip/certificate along with hard copy of their resume.
Relaxations and Concessions
-
For physically handicapped candidates,
upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years (over and above Category relaxation).

Ex – Servicemen and Commissioned
officers including ECOs / SSCOs
who have rendered at least 5 years’ military service and who have been released
- on completion of assignment otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on
account of misconduct or inefficiency; or on account of physical disability attributable
to military service; or on invalidment; shall be allowed
maximum relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.

Upper age limit is relaxed by
5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu
& Kashmir during the period from 1/1/1980 to 31/12/1989.

Selection
Candidates
meeting the advertised criteria and short listed after scrutiny will be called for
interview.
Candidates
shall have the option to be interviewed in Hindi or English.
The Management reserves the right to raise the minimum
eligibility standards/criteria and/or to conduct a screening test, to restrict the
number of candidates to be called for Interview, if so required.
Candidates
will have to qualify in the Interview to be adjudged suitable for empanelment for
Appointment. The Offer of Appointment shall be issued to the suitable candidates
in the order of merit and based on the number of vacancies. However the final appointment
of selected candidates will be subject to candidates being found medically fit in
the Pre-Employment Medical Examination to be conducted as per POWERGRID Norms and

Health
Applicants should
have sound health. Candidates with myopia and hypermetropia exceeding +4.00D
need not apply. No relaxation in health standard

of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the
Pre-Employment Medical Examination to be conducted as per the Norms and Standards

Compensation Package
The
compensation package is very attractive and one of the best in the Industry with
excellent facilities. Selected candidates will be inducted in the pay scale of Rs
24900 – 50500 with annual CTC of approximately Rs 11 Lakhs.
The compensation package
includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites and Allowances under cafeteria
approach, Performance Related Pay, Company Leased Accommodation or HRA, Reimbursement
of monthly conveyance reimbursement expenditure, medical facilities for self and
dependants, various long and short term advances, Group Insurance, Group Personal
Accident Insurance, Provident Fund, Pension and Gratuity and other facilities in
accordance with the policies of the Corporation from time to time.
